This place is possibly the best thing that has ever happened to me and my pups, Ralph and Pete. I work at home, so I was looking for a place to take them on days where I had quite a bit to accomplish. This place is it! The staff is fantastic, especially Sally and Heather (one of the groomers). You can come here and give your dog a bath using their facilities, you can board them, get them groomed - but the best part is the PLAYCARE! My pup Pete is a bit on the hyperactive side, and everyone here was willing to work with Pete and try and be understanding of his terrier behavior. They worked on training him as well. He goes to playcare 3 times a week and is happily exhausted at the end of each play day. Thank god for Mud Puppies, otherwise I would never get any work done!

The grooming here is also fantastic. Heather does an amazing job with my boys, who are Lakeland Terriers. She is the first groomer in town to do the correct style cut on them, and they always look fantastic. Plus she also has studied animal behavior and knows how to handle different dog personalities.

I took my Scottish terrier, Pip, to Mud Puppies for grooming after I saw a very well-groomed schnauzer at the dog park and his owner recommended the place.  I was new to Austin at the time, and I am always a bit nervous to go to a new place for grooming because Pip has gotten some bad haircuts in the past (e.g., no eyebrows, shaved tail). The staff was very friendly to me and Pip, and they took time to talk to me about how Pip's new 'do should look. The groomer, Heather, did a wonderful job. It was his best haircut ever! The shop is cute and clean, and I would definitely use the self-serve dog wash stations as well.

If you have a groom-able pet, bring him/her here! I just melt for every dog I see Heather grooming (and secretly wish that my shepherd were a poodle).

New grooming and doggie day care facility in San Mateo. Great outer retail area with high end, quality supplies...and a new, experienced groomer who took a great interest in my dog(s) and did a great job...best groom they have ever gotten. Ask for Heather...she will take care of your critter like she does her own.

Heather is really great. She is so gentle and loving with my little yorkie. I highly recommend her. My yorkie has some health issues and I feel very comfortable leaving her with Heather because I know she will take excellent care of her.
